Euro 2008

Holland defeated Italy, the current world champions in an amazing fixture filled with plenty of goals.

The absence of Italy’s World Cup winning captain, and FIFA player of the year 2006 - Fabio Cannavaro was clearly missed, with Italy’s defence playing a big part in the 3-0 defeated to the Dutch.

Marco van Basten, coach of the Netherlands was extremely pleased with the performance, as Holland take charge of group C, with France and Romania both on one point and Italy sit with nothing.

Fabio Cannavaro - Captain of the Italian Football squad has been ruled out of playing at the UEFA Euro 2008 finals which kick-off on the 7th of June.

Cannavaro sustained a heavy injury during practice earlier today, and has suffered from torn legaments. It appears that he has no chance of recovery for the tournament because of Cannavaro’s injury, and therefore fans will not see him in action. Cannavaro was named FIFA Player of the year in 2006, the year in which he lead Italy to the World Cup.

Italy are in Group C for the Euro 2008 finals and will feature in Holland Vs Italy on the 9th of June. They will also meet the likes of Romania and France in the group stages. Cannavaro is an invaluable asset to the team and this will cause a great problem for Roberto Donadoni. We will have all the Euro 2008 final tickets news, results and scores from the event.

Holland have defeated Ukraine in their Euro 2008 warm up fixture this evening.

The full time score was 3-0 to the Netherlands national football team. Ukraine had a great starting lineup but could do nothing against the dutch who were playing great football. It’s without a doubt that Holland have some of the best Euro 2008 odds, and will be looking to take the title. The first fixture for the dutch will be Holland Vs Italy on 9 June, and we will have the result and live score from the big clash.

Euro 2008 Fixtures Update

The Euro 2008 will begin in less than 3 weeks time and everything is going according to schedule. So far thousands of fans have travelled to Austria and Switzerland for the biggest European football event. Thousands of Euro 2008 tickets have already been sold, and more will go on sale within the next few weeks.
